It seems the rotors are finding an stable equilibrium point of lowest energy, towards the centre of the balance, but I’d be fascinated to hear from any physicist that can explain this?
The Advanced Gyro, is the only other device i know of that shows a simillar effect out of the box. When the gyroscope is allowed to precess on the special low friction base, the Advanced Gyro will also rise over time, until the axis is fully vertical!
I’d love to provide a full explanation of this motion in the box, so any helpful thoughts are very much appreciated on this…
